Since I first launched the polysystem hypothesis in 1970 (Even-Zohar 1970: rep. 1978, 11-13), work on developing it, discussions on its applicability and various tests, both pilot-studies and more comprehensive investigations, have been carried out by a growing number of interested scholars! as well as by myself (1972a, 1973, 1978a-1978f, 1979, 1979a).
